EuroTier 2026 to Address Sustainable Dairy Farming Challenges by 2030

Dairy Industry Moves from Climate Ambitions to Farm-Level Action

With 2030 climate targets approaching, the global dairy industry faces increasing pressure to deliver measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining productivity, profitability and long-term milk supply.

At EuroTier 2026, Adisseo will host a 75-minute panel debate titled “From Ambition to Action: Accelerating Sustainable Dairy by 2030”, bringing together dairy farmers and industry experts to examine practical pathways for sustainable milk production.

Industry Leaders to Discuss Sustainability Challenges

The discussion will be chaired by Tom Heap, journalist and broadcaster associated with BBC's CountryFile. The panel includes:

  • Philipp Goetz – IFCN
  • Ian Ross – CEO, GVF Group
  • Nancy Winkelmon – Dairy Sustainability Specialist, Interfood Group
  • David Homer – UK dairy farmer and producer

The session will explore where meaningful sustainability improvements can be implemented immediately, what barriers are slowing farm-level adoption and how stakeholders can accelerate progress across the dairy value chain.

Balancing Emissions Reduction with Dairy Farm Economics

A central challenge for the industry is ensuring that environmental improvements do not undermine farm economics or future milk production.

With major dairy and food businesses pursuing climate and Scope 3 emissions targets, the debate will focus on translating sustainability commitments into practical outcomes for farmers and supply-chain partners.

The discussion will also include audience participation, allowing farmers and industry professionals to challenge ideas, share experiences and contribute practical perspectives.

EuroTier 2026: Sustainability in Focus

The debate forms part of the wider EuroTier 2026 programme, which places emphasis on intelligent livestock farming, technological innovation, efficiency and sustainability.

Event details:

  • Date: 11 November 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM
  • Venue: Press Office, Room 13/14, EuroTier 2026, Hanover, Germany
  • Host: Adisseo

The Road to 2030

The dairy industry's sustainability challenge is increasingly about implementation rather than commitments alone.

The ability to combine lower emissions, farm profitability, productivity and reliable milk supply will remain central to the sector's transition towards more sustainable production systems.

The EuroTier discussion is expected to bring these priorities into sharper focus, highlighting the practical challenges and opportunities facing dairy farming over the next four years.
