NCDFI Explores Stronger Dairy Cooperative Partnership with Tamil Nadu

The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India (NCDFI) is looking to deepen its engagement with Tamil Nadu’s dairy cooperative network, with a focus on strengthening collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Aavin).

A delegation comprising Gowthaman Selvaraj and Pravin Kumar met C. Vijayalakshmi, Tamil Nadu Minister for Dairy Development, on November 1, 2026. The delegation briefed the Minister on NCDFI’s activities and initiatives aimed at strengthening dairy and allied cooperatives.

Aavin at the Centre of Discussions

The discussions focused on opportunities to enhance cooperation between NCDFI and Tamil Nadu’s dairy institutions, particularly Aavin. The engagement signals an effort to build stronger institutional linkages and explore areas where national-level cooperative expertise can support state dairy operations.

NCDFI eMarket: A Digital Trade Opportunity

A key focus of the meeting was the potential of NCDFI’s eMarket platform to promote transparent, efficient and technology-enabled trade across the cooperative dairy sector.

Digital trading platforms can support improved market access and transaction transparency, while helping cooperative institutions explore more efficient procurement and sales processes. Expanding platform adoption could therefore become an important part of strengthening cooperative market linkages.

NCDFI’s engagement with the Tamil Nadu Government reflects its broader effort to expand the reach of its digital marketplace and build stronger partnerships with dairy cooperative institutions.
