Indonesia has strengthened its position in the global dairy market with the export of 13.6 tons of dairy products to Vietnam, highlighting the country’s growing competitiveness in processed dairy manufacturing and international food trade. The shipment, carried out by PT Greenfields Dairy Indonesia, was officially released by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, who stated that the export reflects increasing global confidence in Indonesia’s dairy industry and processing capabilities.
The exported products included milk and cream products processed at Greenfields’ integrated dairy facilities in East Java, where the company operates large-scale dairy farming and processing operations. Indonesian officials emphasized that the achievement demonstrates the country’s ability to compete internationally despite domestic challenges such as limited raw milk supply and dependence on imported dairy ingredients for part of its processing sector.
Deputy Minister Sudaryono noted that Indonesia’s dairy industry is being encouraged to strengthen productivity, improve milk quality, and increase downstream processing to reduce import dependence while expanding export opportunities. He highlighted that the government is focusing on improving dairy cattle populations, farmer productivity, feed quality, and technology adoption as part of broader efforts to strengthen national food security and value-added agricultural exports.
