Vijaya Dairy, operated by the Telangana State Dairy Development Cooperative Federation Limited, has increased the prices of its standardised milk and whole milk by ₹2 per litre, with revised rates coming into effect from midnight on October 16, 2026, according to Hyderabad Mail. The price revision was announced on October 15 and applies to consumers, milk vendors, distributors, institutions, modern retail outlets and e-commerce companies across the distribution network. Under the revised pricing, the 500 ml packet of standardised milk, containing 4.5% fat, has increased from ₹34 to ₹35, while the 500 ml packet of whole milk, containing 6% fat, has risen from ₹39 to ₹40.
The ₹1 increase per half-litre packet translates into an additional ₹2 per litre for consumers purchasing either variant. The revised prices are effective from October 17 for regular retail purchases. The price adjustment comes amid rising operational expenses across the dairy supply chain, including milk procurement, transportation, packaging and distribution, although the Hyderabad Mail report does not specify the exact cost components cited by the federation as the reason for this particular revision.
The increase affects both household consumers and commercial buyers, including institutions and retailers that depend on Vijaya milk supplies. As a major cooperative dairy brand in Telangana, Vijaya Dairy plays an important role in the state’s milk distribution network, connecting dairy producers with urban and institutional markets. The latest revision highlights the continuing challenge for dairy cooperatives of balancing consumer affordability with procurement costs and distribution expenses.
