Milk production in the country is Rs 8 lakh crore : Parshottam Rupala

The annual growth rate in the livestock sector in the country is more than eight percent in the last five years. This rate is even higher than the manufacturing sector. Milk production in the country is Rs 8 lakh crore, which is more than the total production of wheat, pulses and oilseeds. This information was given by the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Purushottam Rupala in a dialogue program on Central Plans and Entrepreneurship Development organized at the Academy of Administration, Bhopal, in the field of Animal Husbandry Dairying on Saturday.

During this, he called upon the youth to take advantage of the growing profit in the livestock sector. Provide employment to others by establishing employment and make a significant contribution to economic upliftment by making the country self-reliant in the food sector.

Appreciating the program organized by the Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department, Union Minister Rupala said that this program to take the central schemes on the ground will not only benefit the state but also the livestock owners of the country. He said that dialogue programs have been started by the Union Ministry of Animal Husbandry to directly inform about the central schemes to the livestock farmers, entrepreneurs etc. After Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, this program has been organized in Madhya Pradesh.

In the program, Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Secretary Atul Chaturvedi explained in detail about the beneficial schemes in the livestock sector and the rapidly increasing benefits from their implementation. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given instructions to take programs to increase income from animal husbandry at the doorstep of the farmer. Kisan Credit Card campaign will be launched from Monday, November 15. Aadhar card of animals will be made, which will increase the income from the sale of products related to them in the country and abroad. KCCs are being given to help the livestock farmers in times of crisis. So far 66 thousand 256 cards have been issued.

In the program, President of MP Cow Husbandry and Livestock Promotion Board, Smami Akhileshwaranand said that a roadmap has been prepared for the protection, protection and promotion of cows in the state. Welcoming the new tradition of interaction with the entrepreneurs by the officers of the State and Central Government, he said that along with this, the dream of Golden India will also come true.

Cow, buffalo, goat, poultry, pig farmers shared their success stories in the program. Union Joint Secretary OP Chaudhary presented the central plans. Through the portal display in the National Livestock Mission (Entrepreneurship), the entrepreneurs were given detailed information about the financial assistance received from government and banks under various schemes.

Additional Chief Secretary, MP Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, J.N. Kansotia, Agriculture Production Commissioner Shailendra Singh, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Director RK Mehia, Livestock and Poultry Development Corporation’s Managing Director HBS Bhadauria, Animal Husbandry, Entrepreneur and officers of all the districts of Animal Husbandry Department were present in the program.
