UP Dairy Conclave: ₹11 Crore DBT Reaches 1,200 Beneficiaries
Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh: More than ₹11 crore has been transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to around 1,200 beneficiaries from the Jhansi, Kanpur and Chitrakoot Dham divisions as part of Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to strengthen dairy development and rural entrepreneurship. The announcement was made at a dairy conclave held in Jhansi on September 11, 2026.
The conclave focused on women’s participation and entrepreneurship in dairy development, with the objective of expanding awareness of government welfare initiatives and supporting the rural dairy economy. According to the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Department, more than 70% of participants were women.
Under the Nand Baba Milk Mission, more than ₹11 crore was transferred directly into the bank accounts of approximately 1,200 beneficiaries. Separately, ₹13.5 crore was released under Uttar Pradesh’s 2022 Milk Policy for various dairy-related projects in the three divisions.
A key development at the conclave was the distribution of registration certificates to 22 newly formed multipurpose milk cooperatives. The formal registration is aimed at strengthening cooperative participation in the dairy sector and providing an institutional framework for farmers and dairy entrepreneurs.
The event brought together more than 1,000 cattle rearers, farmers and aspiring dairy entrepreneurs from the Bundelkhand region. Modern dairy equipment and services were also demonstrated through stalls featuring organisations and institutions including Parag, Balini, Namaste India, Bhole Baba, Samarthya and Indian Bank.
Farmers from across Uttar Pradesh were also connected to the programme through digital platforms, including YouTube and webcasts, allowing wider participation beyond the physical venue. Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharm Pal Singh attended the conclave.
