Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has called for further expansion of the country's dairy industry, urging the sector to build on its strong export performance while unlocking additional growth potential.
Speaking at a state awards ceremony honouring dairy industry professionals, Lukashenko highlighted exports as a key indicator of the sector's progress, noting that Belarus exported agricultural products worth more than US$10 billion to 117 countries in 2025, compared with less than US$1.5 billion in 2005. Of the total agricultural export earnings, US$4 billion came from dairy products, with the country processing and selling more than 5.5 million tonnes of dairy products during the year.
He emphasised that Belarus is now among the world's top ten dairy exporters, but stressed that the industry must continue improving productivity, efficiency and value addition to further strengthen its global competitiveness. The President also praised dairy professionals for their contribution to the country's food security and export success, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting continued development of the dairy sector as a strategic pillar of the Belarusian economy.
