The whole nation is enjoying the 75 years of independence. Dairy sector has contributed in a special way by supporting the agriculture sector in greater Gross value addition. Dairy contributes to nearly one third of the total Agriculture value. India is the largest producer of milk in the world. However it is also the largest hub of non producing cattle in the world too. The productivity of our animals is improving but not yet touched the average lactation yield of the world. Our exports are also a very small percentage of global dairy exports.

Most of the facts are current and from FY 21. Let us feel proud while reading the facts of Indian dairy industry.
