Gyandhara Industries Pvt. Ltd., under the leadership of Managing Director Ritu Agarwal, is advancing a science-driven and community-centric approach to transform rural dairy ecosystems, addressing long-standing inefficiencies in cattle nutrition and farmer awareness across North India.
The initiative focuses on tackling a critical gap in the traditional cattle feed market, where compromises between affordability and nutritional quality have historically led to lower milk productivity, poor livestock health, and reduced farmer incomes, often accepted as industry norms.
Agarwal identified that the core challenge extended beyond feed availability to the lack of scientifically formulated nutrition and limited farmer knowledge, shaping Gyandhara’s evolution from a feed manufacturer into a science-led rural growth platform centred on balanced nutrition, quality standards, farmer education, and sustainable productivity.
The company has scaled significantly, achieving a turnover exceeding ₹425 crore and expanding production capacity towards approximately 1,500 metric tonnes per day, positioning itself as a key cattle nutrition player in North India.
Beyond product distribution, Gyandhara has invested in farmer engagement initiatives such as “Gyandhara Manthan,” which promotes awareness of nutrition science, total digestible nutrients (TDN) balance, and productivity economics, helping improve milk yield, animal health, and income stability.
The company has also introduced “Gyandhara Sakhi Swasthya Shivir,” focusing on women’s health and awareness, recognising the critical yet often underrepresented role of women in sustaining rural dairy systems.
The development reflects a broader shift in India’s dairy sector toward integrating scientific nutrition, farmer education, and community development, positioning cattle feed and advisory services as key levers for improving productivity, sustainability, and rural livelihoods.
