Amul Dairy, operated by the Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. (KDCMPUL), is set to establish a modern dairy processing and manufacturing facility in the Fatuha Industrial Area near Patna, marking a major boost for Bihar’s dairy and food processing sector. The project, approved by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), will involve an investment of approximately ₹200 crore and will be developed on 13 acres of land at IA Fatuha.
The facility will manufacture and process milk and a range of fresh dairy products, significantly enhancing Bihar’s dairy processing capacity and strengthening the state’s milk value chain. The project is expected to generate around 200 direct and indirect employment opportunities, while also improving market access for local milk producers and dairy farmers.
Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said investments in dairy and food processing will strengthen the rural economy, increase farmers’ incomes and help position Bihar as a leading hub for agriculture-based industries. BIADA Managing Director Kundan Kumar stated that the state’s investor-friendly policies, transparent processes and infrastructure support are attracting major investments in sectors such as dairy and food processing.
Industry experts believe the Amul project will boost milk procurement, encourage higher dairy production, create jobs across logistics, packaging and supply-chain operations, and reinforce investor confidence in Bihar’s rapidly growing agro-processing sector. (thevibrantnews.in)
