DKMUL Targets 4.5 Lakh Litres Milk by December
The Dakshina Kannada Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (DKMUL) is gearing up to increase its milk procurement to 4.5 lakh litres per day by December 2025, from the current level of around 4.3 lakh litres. To support this growth, DKMUL has launched targeted initiatives including silage subsidies for farmers and incentives of ₹12,000 for purchasing high-yielding cattle. These measures are aimed at boosting production capacity in the district while improving farmer incomes.
Alongside liquid milk, DKMUL is expanding its product portfolio. It is working on establishing a large-scale ice-cream production facility and exploring a new dairy plant to further strengthen its processing infrastructure. The Union believes that these moves, coupled with farmer-centric incentives and fodder support programs, will significantly enhance both production efficiency and financial sustainability in the coming months.
