Banas Dairy has announced plans to establish a Bio-CNG plant in Dhanpur, Gujarat, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable dairy farming and the circular economy. The project will convert organic waste, primarily cattle dung, into compressed biogas (Bio-CNG), while also producing organic manure as a valuable by-product.
The initiative is designed to improve waste management, generate clean and renewable energy, create an additional source of income for dairy farmers and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. According to the cooperative, the project will further strengthen Banas Dairy's green energy portfolio while supporting environmental sustainability and rural development.
The proposed Dhanpur facility builds on the success of Banas Dairy's existing Bio-CNG initiatives, which have become a model for integrating dairy operations with renewable energy production and resource-efficient agriculture. (The Times of India)
