Aavin announces ₹2/litre incentive for Tiruchi farmers

The Aavin unit in Tiruchirappalli has announced a special incentive of ₹2 per litre of milk for dairy farmers supplying milk to the cooperative in a move aimed at boosting procurement and supporting producers. The incentive will be provided in addition to the regular procurement price and is expected to benefit milk suppliers attached to the district’s milk producers’ cooperative societies. Officials said the measure was introduced to encourage farmers to increase milk supply to Aavin and strengthen procurement during a period when the dairy sector faces supply challenges.
The Tiruchi Aavin unit currently procures around 2 lakh litres of milk daily, and the incentive is expected to motivate more farmers to supply milk through cooperative channels. Authorities also noted that increasing procurement will help meet growing consumer demand for milk and dairy products in the region while ensuring better income support for dairy farmers associated with the cooperative network.
