India’s dairy and snacking brand Epigamia is seeing a significant reshuffling of its investor base through a secondary transaction worth a little over $20 million, with long-time investor Verlinvest and the family of late founder Rohan Mirchandani increasing their stakes, while Manu Chandra-led Sauce joins the company’s cap table.
The transaction involves existing shareholders selling their stakes to other investors, meaning Epigamia itself is not receiving fresh capital from the deal. Exact shareholding percentages and valuation details were not disclosed. The transaction has enabled profitable exits for early investors including DSG Consumer Partners, KA Enterprises and other angel investors, while Verlinvest, which first invested in Epigamia more than a decade ago, is further increasing its commitment to the business.
Sauce’s involvement also has a longer history, with Manu Chandra having invested personally in the company when it was earlier known as Hokey Pokey in 2014. Epigamia is positioning itself around growing consumer demand for healthier, calorie-conscious and protein-rich foods, while the expansion of quick-commerce and last-mile distribution is making it easier for the brand to reach consumers beyond major metros.
The company is described as profitable and is targeting a business trajectory of doubling every 24–30 months. The development signals continued investor confidence in India’s value-added dairy and health-focused food categories, where premiumisation, protein consumption and convenient distribution are reshaping consumer demand.
