Milky Mist Commissions ₹40-Cr Yogurt Plant

Milky Mist Dairy Food has commissioned a new Skyr and Greek yoghurt manufacturing facility at its integrated plant in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu, with an investment of around ₹40 crore, expanding its premium and high-protein dairy portfolio. The facility strengthens the company’s manufacturing capabilities in yoghurt while adding products aimed at the growing demand for differentiated, nutrition-focused dairy offerings.

The investment comes as Milky Mist continues to expand beyond its traditional paneer, curd and cheese categories. The company’s product portfolio already includes Skyr and Greek yoghurt, with its official website listing Skyr in 225g and 700g packs and Greek yoghurt in multiple flavours.

The new facility is part of Milky Mist’s broader strategy of increasing value-added dairy production and improving utilisation of its integrated manufacturing ecosystem. The company reported ₹973.45 crore in revenue in Q1 FY27, up about 44% year-on-year, while yogurt revenue increased 153% during the quarter, highlighting strong momentum in the category.

With the ₹40-crore investment, Milky Mist is positioning yoghurt as a larger growth engine alongside cheese, paneer and other value-added dairy products. The move also reflects the wider shift in India’s dairy market toward premium, protein-rich and functional dairy products, where manufacturing scale and product differentiation are becoming increasingly important.
