Meenesh Shah gets extension as Chairman NDDB

NDDB congratulates Dr. on the extension of his tenure as Chairman, NDDB, for a further period of 3.5 years by the Government of India. This extension is a recognition of his exemplary leadership and reflects the continued confidence reposed in his farmer-centric vision, coupled with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and institutional excellence. Under his able stewardship, National Dairy Development Board has further strengthened cooperative institutions, empowered millions of dairy farmers, and played a pivotal role in safeguarding India’s nutritional security—while reinforcing the nation’s position as the world’s largest milk producer. The entire NDDB family extends its warmest best wishes to Dr. Meenesh Shah for his continued leadership and unwavering commitment to dairy development and rural prosperity.

Tenure Extension Details

  • Recent Extension: Dr. Shah's tenure was recently extended for a further period of 3.5 years by the Government of India.
  • Previous Extension: This follows an earlier extension for one year, effective from January 1, 2025, or until a regular appointment is made, whichever occurred first.
  • Initial Appointment: He originally took over the additional charge of the post on June 1, 2021, after serving as an Executive Director. 

Role and Contributions

Dr. Shah, a qualified Dairy Technologist and a Post Graduate in Rural Management, has over 39 years of experience in the dairy sector. 
  • He oversees strategic initiatives and operations at NDDB, which plays a crucial role in India's dairy development and cooperative movement.
  • He is also the Chairman of several other premier institutions, including Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt Ltd (MDFVPL), IDMC Limited, and NDDB Dairy Services.
  • Internationally, he serves as a Board Member of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and Member Secretary of its Indian National Committee.
