Rajasthan HC asks RCDF to report on Food safety
The Rajasthan High Court has taken strict action regarding food safety, directing the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) to submit a detailed report regarding its milk processing and testing procedures.

- HC Directive: The High Court has asked RCDF to explain the entire process of milk, from collection at the village level to the final packaging stage, following concerns about adulteration and food safety.
- Case Background: The court has taken a serious view of contaminated food items and diseases, making the RCDF a party to the ongoing proceedings, with the next hearing scheduled for April 6, 2026.
- Quality Control Measures: Previously, RCDF sought help from the Commissionerate of Food Safety and Drug Control (CFSDC) for stricter quality checks, as RCDF's internal tests were only for payment purposes and not legally binding for court cases against adulteration.
- Independent Testing: RCDF recently introduced a, initiative allowing citizens to test 50 ML milk or ghee samples for free at its labs to curb adulteration.
- Infrastructure Expansion: Amid these quality concerns, the state government is investing heavily in RCDF to increase its processing capacity to 7.5 million liters per day.
The court is simultaneously demanding reports from the pollution control board regarding the cleaning of contaminated water in drains.
