In a significant international gathering aimed at fostering economic collaboration and inclusive growth, Dr. Raja Rathinam was conferred with "Excellent Entrepreneur Award" for his distinguished and continued contributions to the agriculture and dairy sectors. The award was presented under the auspices of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, in collaboration with allied organizations during the Global Summit held on 18th August 2025 at LeMeridian Conference Hall, New Delhi.

The summit, convened to promote cross-border cooperation among MSMEs—particularly in the Global South—drew participation from ambassadors and representatives of multiple nations. These delegates collectively expressed their commitment to advancing developmental initiatives through mutually beneficial partnerships, emphasizing the critical role MSME's play in sustainable economic growth.

In her message, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Rekha Gupta, reaffirmed India’s commitment to the Global Community, stating that India continues to uphold the ideal of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam"—the world as one family. The Assembly Speaker, Government of Delhi highlighted that the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India), as articulated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister, extends to fostering collaborative progress with international partners.

The central theme of the summit—"Global Integration Through MSME Collaboration"—received wide appreciation from global thought leaders, subject-matter experts and policy-makers. The event served as a platform to align developmental agendas across key sectors including agriculture, dairying, engineering, medicine, information technology and other important Sectors.

To recognize exemplary contributions across these domains, an Expert Committee was constituted to identify and honor outstanding practing professionals, operating under the MSME framework. Among the notable awardees was Dr. Raja Rathinam, former Central Executive Committee Member and Life Member of the Indian Dairy Association (IDA) and Managing Director of the UNDP-initiated Project SKPCL. He was lauded for his transformative work in the agriculture and dairy sectors, particularly his initiatives aimed at empowering farmers through sustainable and inclusive practices.

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Rathinam emphasized the need to harness innovative technologies, including Artificial Intelligence advanced marketing strategies for integrated human development approach, especially to uplift the lives of farmers—the primary producers of global sustenance. In a thought-provoking remark, he urged consumers to “take food as medicine, lest they are compelled to take medicine as food in the near future.”

Delivering the vote of thanks, Mr. Harish Chand, Convenor of the Conference, outlined a comprehensive roadmap aimed at accelerating MSME-led development, with a special focus on countries in the Global South. The summit concluded with a shared vision of inclusive growth, innovation-driven entrepreneurship and international solidarity through the MSME sector.
