ZAGRO Renames Indian Subsidiary as ZAGRO India

Singapore-based agrisolutions company ZAGRO has renamed its Indian subsidiary, PL Agro Technologies Pvt. Ltd., as ZAGRO India Pvt. Ltd., aligning its Indian operations more closely with its global corporate identity.

The Chennai-based business remains a wholly owned subsidiary of ZAGRO Singapore Pte. Ltd. The rebranding follows ZAGRO’s acquisition of PL Agro Technologies and is intended to strengthen the integration of its Indian business with the wider group.

According to the company, the change will provide Indian customers with access to its international research and development capabilities, manufacturing standards and broader product portfolio. Existing ownership, contracts, customer relationships, commitments, quality standards, service arrangements and management and technical teams will remain unchanged.

Three Business Segments to Drive Growth

ZAGRO India will operate across three principal business segments: animal nutrition, animal health and crop care.

The animal nutrition portfolio includes vitamin and mineral premixes, specialty feed additives, toxin binders and functional nutrition solutions. Its animal health business covers poultry, swine, dairy and aquaculture, alongside farm biosecurity programmes.

The crop care segment includes crop protection products, plant nutrition solutions and specialty agrochemicals.

The company intends to serve customers across poultry, dairy, beef cattle, swine, aquaculture, companion animals and crop production. In addition to its products, it offers technical consultancy, product support and training.

Chennai Plant Remains India’s Manufacturing Hub

ZAGRO’s Chennai facility will continue to serve as its principal manufacturing base for the Indian market.

The plant produces organic and inorganic mineral premixes, mycotoxin binders, Halquinol, oral liquids, Tiamulin 80% and customised products.

The company expects the closer integration with its global operations to support wider market penetration, shorter product lead times and faster responses to customer requirements. It also aims to strengthen relationships with poultry farmers, veterinarians and feed manufacturers across India.

The strategy combines international technical expertise with local manufacturing and customer support, allowing the company to address the needs of India’s livestock and agricultural sectors.

India’s Livestock Market Offers Growth Opportunities

India’s large livestock and poultry industries provide opportunities for suppliers of feed additives, animal health products and biosecurity solutions.

According to industry information cited in the report, India is the world’s third-largest egg producer and fifth-largest poultry meat producer, with annual egg production exceeding 140 billion.

These industries require solutions that support animal nutrition, farm health, feed quality and disease prevention. ZAGRO’s expanded corporate identity is intended to strengthen its position in these markets while maintaining its crop care business.

ZAGRO’s International Presence

Founded in 1953 as a division of the Swiss-based Zuellig Group, ZAGRO has developed an international business spanning animal health, animal nutrition, crop care, public health and industrial chemicals.

The company was listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange in 1996 and reports a presence in more than 70 countries.

The rebranding of its Indian subsidiary represents a corporate identity change rather than the launch of a new manufacturing facility or product line. Its commercial impact will depend on how effectively the company uses its international resources, domestic manufacturing capabilities and technical support to expand its position in India.
