Vijaya Dairy Hikes Milk Prices from April 4

Vijaya Dairy, operated by the Krishna District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited, has announced a price increase of ₹2 per litre and Re 1 per half-litre for packet milk, effective April 4, 2026, citing rising production and operational costs. The revised prices will be implemented across key regions, while monthly cardholders will continue to receive milk at existing rates until April 9, after which the new prices will apply.
The price revision follows a recent increase in procurement prices paid to farmers by ₹3 per litre, reinforcing the cooperative’s effort to support producers amid rising input costs. As part of this revision, the procurement price of buffalo milk (10% fat) has been increased from ₹82 to ₹85 per litre, while cow milk prices have risen from ₹29 to ₹31 per litre, effective April 1, 2026.
The move reflects broader cost pressures across the dairy value chain, including higher input and operational expenses, prompting cooperatives to pass on part of the burden to consumers while maintaining improved price realization for farmers.
