The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Ferozepur District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (Veerka Ferozepur Dairy) was successfully held on March 27, 2025, at Ferozepur Club. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Gurbhej Singh Tibbi.

Prominent officials in attendance included Joint Registrar (Ferozepur Division) Umesh Kumar, MILKFED representative Rupinder Singh Sekhon, Assistant Registrar Sonia, Deputy General Manager Sugyan Prasad Singh, along with several board members and representatives from cooperative societies associated with Veerka Ferozepur Dairy.

During the session, the General Manager of Veerka Ferozepur Dairy announced that Veerka Ferozepur Dairy had remained profitable in the financial years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The meeting agenda was presented and approved unanimously, with an appeal for continued member support in the future.

Chairman Gurbhej Singh Tibbi emphasized his commitment to farmers, stating, "As a farmer myself, I understand the challenges faced by the community. Our entire board is dedicated to working for farmers' welfare." He announced a Rs 15 per kg fat increase in milk procurement prices, effective April 11, 2025, ensuring fair compensation for dairy farmers. In addition, chilling and head-load charges were also revised to benefit the producers.

A special technical session was also held, featuring Dr. Ranjodhan Singh Sohota (Former Director, Extension Education, GADVASU) and Dr. Jeevan Gupta (Veterinary Officer, Patiala), who provided insights into modern dairy farming techniques. Experts from Veerka’s Cattle Feed Plant (Ghaniye Ke Bangar), including Shailendra Kumar, Dr. Karan, and Nishant Arora, educated farmers about high-quality cattle feed and proper feeding schedules.

The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) representatives also introduced farmers to the FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) "Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Kisaan Utpadan Sangathan, Ferozepur." Joint Registrar Umesh Kumar emphasized the importance of cooperative societies and encouraged farmers to focus on high-quality milk production, indigenous cattle rearing, and organic farming.

Several cooperative societies and farms were felicitated for their contributions in milk supply, cattle feed sales, and mineral mixture usage. Notably, Hardev Kaur Kang, a female dairy farmer from Fidde village, was recognized for the highest milk production. She was also recently honoured by the Indian Dairy Association for her significant contributions to the dairy sector.
