UP Dairy Sector Attracts ₹695 Crore in Proposals

Uttar Pradesh’s dairy sector has attracted investment proposals worth ₹695.18 crore from 22 companies, with the proposed projects expected to generate more than 2,500 jobs across the State.

The proposals were received during the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS-2026) under the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development and Dairy Products Promotion Policy, 2022, according to the Dairy Development Department.

Ace International Leads Proposed Investments

Ace International Ltd. has proposed the largest investment, amounting to ₹457 crore for projects in Hathras, Aligarh and Agra. The company expects these projects to create approximately 1,500 employment opportunities. Carebro Innovators Pvt. Ltd. has proposed an investment of ₹100 crore across Ayodhya, Lucknow, Meerut and Bareilly. The projects are expected to generate more than 250 jobs, according to company representatives. Other proposals include ₹50 crore from Anjum Dairy for projects in Moradabad, Amroha and Rampur; ₹27 crore from Gwin Whey Protein for projects in Etah, Firozabad and Etawah; and ₹14.65 crore from Gauri Food and Beverages for Jhansi.

Dairy Policy and Industry Participation

The investment proposals were submitted under the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development and Dairy Products Promotion Policy, 2022. The policy provides a framework for encouraging investment in dairy infrastructure and dairy-product manufacturing in the State. During the trade show, stalls organised by the Dairy Development Department, cooperatives and private dairy companies attracted visitors and prospective investors. Participating brands and companies included Parag, Amul, Namaste India, Paras Dairy, Gyan Dairy, New Era Dairy, Alpha Milk Foods and CP Milk. Department officials briefed investors and visitors on government schemes and investment opportunities in the dairy sector. Uttar Pradesh Milk Commissioner Dhanlakshmi K. said the department had received proposals worth ₹695.18 crore, with the projects expected to generate employment for more than 2,500 people. The department is also working to attract additional investors and expand employment opportunities for young people.

From Proposals to Project Execution

The proposed investments cover multiple districts and could support the expansion of dairy processing, manufacturing and related business activities across Uttar Pradesh. However, the ₹695.18 crore figure represents investment proposals rather than confirmation that all projects have been implemented. The next stage will be the progress of these proposals towards execution, including the establishment of facilities and the creation of the anticipated jobs.
