Paras Dairy, the dairy business of VRS Foods, has entered the cream cheese category with the launch of Galacia Cream Cheese, expanding its portfolio of value-added cheese products.
The product was launched at Anuga Select India in Mumbai and is aimed primarily at institutional and professional food-service customers, including bakeries, cafés, hotels, restaurants, cloud kitchens, quick-service restaurants (QSRs) and home bakers.
Galacia Cream Cheese is positioned for applications such as cheesecakes, frostings, desserts, sandwiches, wraps, dips and spreads. The company said it plans to build the category through product trials, sampling and engagement with professional users.
According to Paras Dairy, the institutional segment accounts for around 85–90% of India's cream cheese demand. The company plans to focus on cold-chain management, product consistency and application-led trials, with sampling planned across Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi.
Gajinder Nagar, Joint Managing Director, VRS Foods, said the company's investment in the cheese business is aimed at strengthening manufacturing capabilities and expanding its presence in value-added cheese categories.
Paras Dairy has invested more than ₹100 crore in its cheese business. Its existing portfolio includes mozzarella and cheese blocks, with distribution across North, West and South India through more than 300 distributors and a presence in over 125 cities.
Galacia Cream Cheese will be available in 400-gram and 1-kg packs. The smaller pack is intended for smaller bakeries and home bakers, while the 1-kg format is primarily targeted at HoReCa and other professional users.
The launch adds another category to Paras Dairy's ongoing value-added dairy expansion, with the company seeking to strengthen its presence in India's growing food-service and professional cheese market.
