NITARA and Bharat Sanjeevani from India awarded at IDF

In a proud moment for Indian dairy innovation, two home-grown companies — NITARA and Bharat Sanjeevani — earned global recognition at the International Dairy Federation (IDF) Dairy Innovation Awards 2025, held during the 2025 IDF World Dairy Summit in Santiago, Chile.

NITARA, a platform championing data-driven dairy farming, was honoured in the “Socio-economic Sustainability in Farming” category. Its breakthrough mobile and AI-enabled tools for smallholder dairy farmers demonstrated how digital transformation is reshaping the dairy landscape in India.

Meanwhile, Bharat Sanjeevani was celebrated as a finalist (and winner) for their innovative model of veterinary health and livestock productivity, proving that inclusive dairy ecosystems can also deliver scalable impact.

These accolades come at a critical moment for India’s dairy sector, where the shift is steadily moving from volume to value-added and tech-enabled solutions. The recognition of both NITARA and Bharat Sanjeevani underscores how Indian players are not just participating in global dairy innovation — but leading it in the domains of farmer inclusion, digitalisation and sustainability.

For industry watchers, this sends signal: investing in farm-tech platforms, traceability tools, and farmer-centric models is now integral to India’s dairy narrative. As your lab, consultancy, or accelerator programme scopes opportunities in dairy automation and start-ups, these wins from the IDF awards reaffirm that the international market is watching and rewarding Indian ingenuity.

In short: India’s dairy future is being defined by smart systems, empowered farmers and lean value chains — and NITARA & Bharat Sanjeevani have just set the benchmark.
