Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF), which markets dairy products under the Milma brand, recorded a turnover of ₹2,559.71 crore in the first half of FY2026–27, registering a 15.09% increase over the ₹2,224.12 crore reported in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The growth came from sales of liquid milk and other dairy products across Milma’s three regional cooperative milk producers’ unions and facilities managed directly by KCMMF.
Malabar Union Records Highest Turnover
The three regional unions together generated ₹2,328.87 crore, while products from KCMMF-managed facilities contributed ₹230.84 crore during the six-month period.
The Malabar Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (MRCMPU) recorded the highest turnover at ₹1,011.62 crore, compared with ₹855.24 crore a year earlier, representing growth of 18.28%.
The Trivandrum Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (TRCMPU) reported turnover of ₹746.21 crore, up from ₹635.89 crore, an increase of 17.35%.
The Ernakulam Regional Cooperative Milk Producers Union (ERCMPU) recorded ₹571.04 crore, compared with ₹515.79 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year, marking growth of 10.71%.
Liquid Milk and Other Products Support Growth
Liquid milk sales remained an important contributor to the regional unions’ performance.
TRCMPU’s milk-sales turnover increased by 13.86% to ₹589.8 crore, while ERCMPU recorded ₹444.64 crore, up 6.32%. MRCMPU’s milk-sales turnover rose 15.50% to ₹712.22 crore.
Sales of products other than liquid milk also increased across all three unions.
TRCMPU generated ₹156.41 crore from these products, compared with ₹117.87 crore in the year-earlier period. ERCMPU’s turnover from the category rose to ₹126.4 crore from ₹97.58 crore, while MRCMPU recorded ₹299.4 crore, up from ₹238.6 crore.
The figures indicate that growth extended beyond liquid milk to Milma’s wider dairy-product portfolio.
Implications for Dairy Procurement
Milma Chairman K. S. Mani said the performance reinforced the federation’s position in Kerala’s dairy market and reflected consumer confidence in its products.
The federation and regional unions have also been working to increase milk production and productivity within their cooperative network. Higher business volumes can support milk procurement from affiliated dairy farmers, although the reported turnover figures alone do not quantify the change in procurement volumes or individual farmer incomes.
The first-half results highlight the role of regional cooperative unions and diversified dairy-product sales in Milma’s business performance during FY2026–27.
