  • 95% of payments sent directly to farmers' bank accounts, ensuring fair pricing, transparency, and financial inclusion
  • MilkLane will employ its 100% Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) model, First-in-India Stainless Steel can distribution system, and rigorous testing standards

MilkLane, the dairy and cattle feed business of Innoterra, has announced a strategic collaboration with Milky Mist, one of India’s most innovative dairy brands, to ensure a steady supply of high-quality, 100% traceable milk for Milky Mist’s expanding product range. MilkLane will leverage its robust network of farmers and rigorous quality control to supply premium milk, while Milky Mist will apply its advanced processing technology and market reach to deliver superior dairy products. The collaboration tackles key industry challenges including raw milk quality, supply chain transparency, and operational efficiency, ultimately benefiting both farmers and consumers.

Under the INR 400+ crore agreement, MilkLane will supply 100 kilolitres of premium milk per day to Milky Mist for over three years. This partnership will directly benefit 10,000+ farmers, ensuring fair pricing and access to high-nutrition cattle feed solutions. MilkLane will employ rigorous quality control protocols including its 100% Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) model operations, innovative stainless steel (SS) can distribution system, and strict antibiotics and adulterants testing at collection centers, to ensure only high-purity milk reaches Milky Mist’s processing facilities. Additionally, real-time supply chain tracking will ensure full traceability, transparency and consistency in milk procurement.

Milky Mist, a pioneer in value-added dairy, processes 1.5 million litres of milk daily at its fully automated 75-acre Perundurai facility. Committed to sustainability, it integrates wind and solar energy into its operations. Partnering with MilkLane further strengthens its ability to source high-quality, traceable milk, reinforcing its leadership in India’s dairy sector.

Talking about the collaboration, Harish Sharma, Managing Director, MilkLane, said, “Our partnership with Milky Mist reflects our shared vision for transparency, sustainability, and farmer support in the dairy industry. We aim to support Milky Mist with 100% end-to-end traceable and high-quality supply of premium milk for its expanding value-added dairy portfolio. The dairy sector struggles with inconsistent fat and SNF levels, antibiotic contamination, and aflatoxin risks, which impact product quality and safety. MilkLane addresses these challenges with a tech-driven approach, leveraging our network of 10,000+ farmers, 150+ strategically placed BMCs, and four-tier quality assurance with 40+ tests at central labs. We are confident that this partnership will set a new industry benchmark, combining MilkLane’s expertise in sourcing with Milky Mist’s innovation in dairy processing.”

Elaborating on the focus on value-added products and how this partnership strengthens their operations, Dr. K Rathnam, CEO, Milky Mist Dairy, said, “We are committed to delivering innovative, high-quality, value-added dairy products to the consumers. This partnership with MilkLane will ensure that we receive a stable supply of rigorously tested, premium milk, meeting the highest safety and quality standards for our consumers. Additionally, MilkLane’s farmer-centric approach, including fair pricing and scientifically formulated cattle feed, strengthens the dairy ecosystem—benefiting both producers and end consumers. As we expand our product range and market reach, this collaboration will play a key role in reinforcing our position in the industry.”

With India being the world’s largest producer and consumer of dairy, maintaining product quality and supply chain integrity is crucial. This partnership between Milky Mist and MilkLane raises the industry benchmarks for transparency, farmer welfare, and greater access to safe, high-quality dairy products for Indian households.
