Great Britain June Milk Volumes Reach Record High
Great Britain delivered a record 1,107 million litres of milk in June—6.2% higher than June 2024 and the strongest June performance on record. Daily average deliveries stood at 36.9 million litres, peaking mid-month above the prior year’s performance. For the April–June quarter, GB’s total milk production reached 3,432 million litres, marking a 5.7% increase year-on-year .
The robust spring "flush" has been underpinned by a warm, sunny June—the UK recorded its warmest June on record, with average temperatures 2.5 °C above long-term norms. Although total rainfall was near average, region-specific deficits persisted in much of the UK, helping grass growth improve from mid-June. Forage stocks remain tight, yet the milk-to-feed price ratio stays in the expansion zone. Milk prices held steady for July, supported by strong domestic volumes and constrained butter supplies .
