A viral social media video has raised serious concerns over last-mile quality control in dairy delivery after a customer alleged that a quick-commerce order from Zepto arrived with damaged and leaking dairy products, including a swollen Amul milk pouch and a torn Mother Dairy curd cup. The video, posted on March 18, 2026, has garnered over 18 million views on Instagram, amplifying scrutiny on packaging integrity and delivery standards in the fast-growing quick-commerce segment.

In the video, the user highlighted multiple issues, including a leaking and inflated milk packet—potentially indicating spoilage, and visibly damaged yoghurt packaging, while also questioning how such items cleared quality checks before dispatch. The complaint extended beyond dairy to other groceries, pointing to broader concerns around handling and fulfilment processes.

Following the viral backlash, Zepto reportedly reached out privately to apologise and offered replacement items such as chips and ice cream as a goodwill gesture, though no official public statement was issued at the time. Meanwhile, Amul responded by requesting product details, including batch number and customer information, to investigate the issue further.

The incident highlights growing risks for dairy brands in the quick-commerce ecosystem, where last-mile handling, temperature control, and packaging integrity are critical to maintaining product quality and consumer trust, especially as online grocery adoption accelerates.
