Responding during Parliament's Question Hour, the Centre shared statistics provided by the state government indicating that daily milk procurement by cooperative dairies fell sharply during the previous administration, while several dairy infrastructure projects and cooperative initiatives stagnated.
The current government said it has launched measures to revive the sector by strengthening dairy cooperatives, expanding milk procurement networks, improving veterinary services, enhancing fodder availability and promoting value-added dairy processing. Officials maintained that the renewed focus aims to improve farmer incomes, rebuild cooperative institutions and accelerate dairy sector growth across Andhra Pradesh.
