Amirthaa Dairy, established in 1984, has grown into a thriving organization and one of the most prominent dairies in Tamil Nadu. With a meticulously programmed plant that strictly adheres to sanitary protocols, Amirthaa Dairy handles a substantial volume of milk. Notably, Amirthaa Dairy holds the distinction of being the pioneering company in Tamil Nadu to exclusively introduce full-cream milk for tea shops, a remarkable achievement that has significantly contributed to its reputation.

Dhayalan Mohanasundaram, the Joint Managing Director of Amirthaa Dairy, expressed their pride in their products, stating, “Our Amirthaa Dairy products are beloved by Tamil Nadu households. We have achieved remarkable success. We prioritize compliance with the regulations of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to ensure the non-adulteration and healthfulness of our milk supply, from farmers to end-users. Our unique selling proposition lies in our unwavering commitment to providing ‘Quality milk and milk products that adhere to FSSAI norms, from farmer to end-user.’

Amirthaa Dairy offers a wide variety of dairy products, including different types of milk, curd, paneer, butter, ghee, dairy whitener, and flavoured milk products. To maintain the “Promise of Freshness,” they’ve implemented a strategic approach to minimize the time between receiving raw milk from farmers and delivering it to customers, effectively preserving the cold chain. Furthermore, they implement five strict levels of quality control throughout the milk production process, from procurement to sales, ensuring the highest standards of quality at every stage.

Amirthaa Dairy, a fully automated plant (SCADA System) meticulously engineered by milk industry experts, boasts a remarkable production capacity of 5 lakh liters of milk daily. The organization has integrated a comprehensive range of technologies, spanning from milk procurement to distribution. At the village level, milk analyzers are conveniently located at the collection points, and procurement individuals diligently calculate the milk solids. This ensures that farmers receive the accurate value for their milk when they deliver it to the company. These real-time data are promptly collected for efficient payment processing.

Throughout the seven-day bill period, Amirthaa Dairy has maintained a flawless record of paying its farmers directly into their bank accounts without any interruptions. Furthermore, all milk collected from village collection centers is transported via route vehicles equipped with 40-liter cans to the chilling centers. Subsequently, the milk is promptly chilled to a temperature of four degrees Celsius and then transported to the main dairy.

At the primary dairy, the milk received from the chilling centers undergoes further evaluation before being unloaded to ensure its quality. Only high-quality milk is unloaded and chilled to four degrees Celsius for processing in accordance with the production schedule for the desired products. The SCADA system monitors and controls all these development activities.

All finished products, including chilled items like milk, buttermilk, curd, paneer, butter, and khova, are moved to the cold room. On the other hand, long-life products like skimmed milk powder, dairy whitener, flavored milk, and ghee are stored at room temperature.

At Amirthaa Dairy, all orders are processed through the company’s integrated CRM portal within the ERP software. Upon receiving orders, chilled products are promptly loaded into insulated reefer vehicles and transported to various locations across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra. The company’s strong presence in Orissa, West Bengal, and numerous other regions is a testament to the exceptional shelf life of its products, including skimmed milk powder, ghee, dairy whitener, flavoured milk and milkshakes.

Amirthaa Dairy, holds various accreditations, including FSSAI, AGMARK, and BIS. Furthermore, it is an ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018 accredited entity. Currently, the company offers approximately 10 product variants and is in the process of introducing new products in the upcoming years. Amirthaa Dairy holds a market share of 60% in the commercial market. The company’s long-term objective is to expand its domestic market presence in the future.

Today, under the guidance of Dhayalan, Amirthaa Dairy has expanded its reach to encompass 15,000 farmers. The company’s operations involve the procurement of approximately 2.5 lakh liters of milk daily through its network of 12 chilling centers and over 1500 collection centers. This milk is then transported to the main plant for processing, which is managed by a team of 700 highly skilled and dedicated staff members. The processed products are subsequently distributed to 450 dealers and 10000+ retailers.

Dhayalan recognized the imperative to empower local communities by addressing their concerns through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Consequently, they established the “Amirthaa Trust.”
