a2 Milk to Launch Pediatric Supplements in China
Prefer on

New Zealand-based The a2 Milk Company is gearing up to expand beyond infant formula in China with a Q3 2026 launch of four pediatric nutritional supplements under its a2 Zhi Yi brand, aiming at immunity, anti-allergy, gut health and brain-eye benefits in children.

The company made the announcement alongside its first-half FY26 financial results, reporting revenue of NZD 993.5 million (≈ US $591 million) — up 18.8 % year-on-year — and net profit after tax of NZD 112.1 million (≈ US $66.7 million), lifted by strong infant formula demand in China and liquid milk growth in Oceania and the U.S.

China’s pediatric supplements market is estimated at NZD 8 billion (≈ US $4.76 billion) and represents 15 – 20 % of the country’s total supplements sector. The segment also aligns closely with the company’s existing infant nutrition business — where a2 is the fourth-largest infant formula brand in Mainland China (behind local and multinational competitors).

The four upcoming products — mostly powder sachets with pre- and probiotics and a soft-gel DHA formula — are being positioned for China’s expanding mother-and-baby retail channels and domestic online marketplaces, leveraging a2’s brand recognition and distribution network built through its core infant nutrition offerings.

The supplements will be manufactured in China using imported ingredients, targeting “high-growth areas” of child wellness and nutrition as the company aims to broaden its product portfolio in the region.
