Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that 9 percent of the total milk production of the country is produced in Madhya Pradesh. Coordinated efforts will be made to take it to 20 percent. CM Dr. Yadav was discussing with senior officials in a high-level meeting regarding increasing milk collection in the organised sector and strengthening the cooperative milk union and federation at Samatva Bhavan at the CM’s residence today. Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development (Independent Charge) Shri Lakhan Patel, MLA Shri Hemant Khandelwal, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) Chairman Dr. Meenesh Shah along with departmental officers were also present.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that efforts will be enhanced for milk production in the cooperative sector. In the villages of the state where cooperative societies are working, there will be good success in increasing milk production. Also, an action plan has been prepared for the remaining villages. Efforts are being made at the district level to implement this action plan. In districts like Rajgarh, farmer producer organisations have taken enthusiastic initiatives through the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. CM Dr. Yadav said that to increase milk production, action will also be taken to amend the rules and acts related to cooperatives as per the requirement.
It was informed in the meeting that as a result of the contract with the National Dairy Development Board, efforts have been intensified to boost milk production in the state. At the outset, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav welcomed NDDB Chairman Shri Meenesh Shah with a flower bouquet.
