Danone’s “Milk Academy” to Up-skill Global Dairy Farmers
Danone has launched its industry-first “Milk Academy” programme, aimed at equipping dairy farmers worldwide with modern tools, sustainability training and digital resources to build more resilient dairy supply chains. The academy is structured around three global Centres of Excellence (first opened in Ohio this year for 60 farmers from nine countries) and supported by local training and a digital learning platform.
The curriculum covers herd productivity, soil health, manure management, regenerative agriculture, and even business fundamentals like succession planning and risk management. It also aligns with Danone’s “Impact Journey” roadmap to significantly reduce methane emissions and move toward climate-positive dairy production.
Industry Insight:
For the Indian dairy and food-processing ecosystem, this initiative signals two key messages: (1) major global dairy players are shifting from volume to sustainable and data-enabled farming practices, which means demand for instrumentation, automation, feed analytics and lab services will grow.
