CII-EDF study:actionable steps to curb dairy emissions

The dairy sector holds immense potential to contribute to a sustainable future by adopting climate resilient innovations and practices. GHG emissions in the dairy sector, driven by methane from livestock, nitrous oxide from manure, and CO2 from energy use, pose significant climate and sustainability challenges and addressing these emissions is vital for aligning dairy production with the Sustainable Development Goals. This program brings together leaders to discuss key findings and explore climate resilient innovations and practices that reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and support sustainable dairy production. The national consultation will outline a roadmap for inclusive, transformative action in the dairy sector to drive environmental sustainability and resilience. In this regards, CII FACE and EDF ( Environment Defense Fund) did a research study and the report has been released.

The report has taken a pragmatic approach and shared plausible strategies which could be easily adopted by the farmers as well as the policy makers.
