The three-day international exhibition Inter Dairy, focused on dairy sector in India, unveiled its maiden essay at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, on Thursday.
The event, a complete value chain for the dairy industry, was inaugurated by lighting of lamp followed by welcome address by Dr J B Prajapati, chairman, IDA.
While Dr R S Sodhi, president, IDA; Mansinghbhai Patel, chairman, Sumul; Arun Dongale, chairman, Gokul; Devendra Shah, chairman, Parag Milk Foods, were present on the occasion, chief guest Shamalbhai Patel, chairman, GCMMF, addressed the gathering.
Vamshidhar Gurram, director, V A Exhibition Pvt Ltd, the organisers of the event, said, “This is the first edition of the event and we are excited about it. In coming three days we are expecting 6,000 foot-fall. There are around 130 exhibitors displaying end to end solutions of dairy industry. We intend that all dairy technology pioneers come together share latest idea and knowledge of dairy industry. Through technology and innovations we are intending to increase milk production and export of milk products. This is a bi-annual event with next edition taking place in Mumbai.”
One of the visitors, importer, distributor of milk products, Ashutosh Vispute, general manager, sales & marketing, Abhaya International LLP, said, “We are one of the leading importers and distributors of milk powder, protein powder and whey powder based in Agra. This is an inaugural event and we are happy with it. We are here to find potential customer. This is a one-stop destination for all the dairy products. We look forward to find potential customer, innovations and technology in dairy industry through this exhibition.”
One of the exhibitors, Richa M Kumar, corporate management, Elcomponics Group, said, “Through this event, we have launched new product – a natural gelato called Skyo. The product comes in flavours like mango, mixberries and chocolate. It costs Rs 200 to 250 and should be stored in cool and dry place. We are looking for good clients, expanding business and creating awareness about this product in India.”
Nisha Nanda, sr manager, YSM Dairy, Biotech Pvt Ltd, said, “We are manufacturers of dairy processing plant like curd plant, milk plant, dairy powder plant and all types of milk product and equipment. We have diverse clients like Lactalis, Ananda, ITC, Patanjali. Our products are modern technology based, energy-efficient and best quality. Through this event we are taking this as an opportunity to launch new butter making machinery. The earlier available machinery used to manufacture butter batch wise. Now butter making is a continuous process.”
The event was also marked by holding of a technical session on Policymakers meet for promotion of exports, organics, innovations. The session was chaired by Dr J V Parekh, vice chairman, IDA; co-chairman, D R shah, managing director, Vidya Dairy, Anand. Speakers at the session included Dr. Digvijay Singh, sr. mgr, NDDB-National Coop on Seeds; Sudhindra Tatti, CEO, Prompt Innovations Pvt Ltd; and Pritam Shah, MD, Parag Foods.
